We are WICKed excited that you are interested in a partnership with us.  


Candle Builders is a print-on-demand (POD), drop ship service. We provide the opportunity for you to create, launch, and sell candles without holding inventory, required minimums, or handling fulfillment. There are endless candle products at your fingertips with our customized candle labels. 


We produce high quality, 100% soy blend candles in the US and ship from New England. We have built a manufacturing and fulfillment process that scales at any rate, never disrupting a seller's needs, even during seasonal demands.


We use the safest ingredients and test our products at all ends to make sure we deliver the best performing products possible.  We hand label our candles and package each candle with care to protect from breakage during transit.


For partners who leverage a different ecommerce platform than Shopify we use a technology called Order Desk for integration.


We have created a step by step onboarding process to help you launch successfully with Candle Builders. Please read the below carefully. Most importantly please review the SKUs required by product variation. These SKUs are critical to our team fulfilling the orders with the correct items.

We offer 3 glass vessels: 

  • Clear 9oz jar with 7.5 oz wax fill (weights .9)
  • Amber 9oz jar with 7.5 oz wax fill (weights .9)
  • Clear 16 oz jar with 13.75 oz wax fill (weights 1.4)

We offer 7 Scents for the 7.5 oz candle and 3 for the 13.75* oz candle:

Vanilla Bean*:  A delight of rich vanilla bean introduced with warm undertones of tonka bean & whipped cocoa.

Comfort Spice*: A fall celebration of brown sugar and cinnamon stick with a lemon blend, vanilla extract & pralines.

Sea Breeze*: A burst of citrus collides with lavender, cedarwood & jasmine petals coupled with hints of patchouli, crushed rosemary & oakmoss.

Pink Grapefruit: A sweet pink grapefruit layered with a beautifully balanced blend of citron.

Eucalyptus Lavender Herb: A fresh fusion of Eucalyptus and Lavender with a twist of earthy undertones.

Spiced Pumpkin Ginger: A blend of spiced pumpkin and fresh ginger, combined with warm undertones of fall spices.

Fresh Balsam: A cool and woodsy blend of balsam, crisp eucalyptus, fir branches and cedarwood.

We offer 4 Lid variations for the clear 7.5 oz candle, 3 lid variations for the amber 7.5 oz candle and the 13.75 candle does not have a lid:

  • White*
  • Gold
  • Black Matte
  • Black gloss

*White lid is not available with the Amber 7.5 oz candle

We offer 2 Label variations for the 7.5 oz candle and 1 for the 13.75 oz candle.

  • 3x2 White semi gloss with square corners
  • 3x2 Kraft paper with round corners
  • 3x3.75 White semi gloss with square corners (Only available in the 13.75 oz candle)

STEP 1: Complete the Candle Builder Customer Form

This form collects company name, url, and contact information. We must have your email address and Company Name that we should bill to. We will send invoices to the email address provided in this form. Once we receive the completed form, we will email you a Candle Builders Customer number. STEP 2: Label Design Templates

You can use the templates we provided below or completely customize on your own.

13.75 oz candle: Label size is 3" wide by 3.75" tall. Candle Builders design template.

7.5 oz candle: Label size is 3" wide by 2" tall. Candle Builders design template.


STEP 3: SKUs

SKUs and how they are created allow our team to identify what candle variation your customer ordered. It is super important that the SKUs you create in your store align to the process outlined below.  Please see the SKU BY VARIATION AND SCENT LINK below. We also provide more details into how those are created below the link.

Our SKU are created in the below order and each is separated by a hyphen: 

SCENT-CANDLE SIZE-LID COLOR-LABEL

Example SKU:XXXX-SCENT-CANDLE-LID-LABEL

Example: XXXX-CS-2-WH-W23

The XX indicates your own SKU. You can place anything in front of our SKU, but after it must contain ours only. If an order is received with an incorrect SKU it will be placed on hold.

STEP 4: Order Desk Setup

Order Desk is an order routing/order management software. We have tested many of them and we believe Order Desk is the best! Learn more about Order Desk here if you are new to the software. https://help.orderdesk.com/article/794-getting-started

In order to connect with us you will need an Order Desk account. We have an existing integration set up for CB customers. Order Desk will submit your print on demand orders to Candle Builders OD store from yours. As orders are fulfilled, the shipment info will automatically be pulled back into Order Desk and sent back to the original shopping cart.

Set Up Instructions

 4.1: To connect to Candle Builders, click on Manage Integrations in the left sidebar. Under the Print on Demand tab, find and click to enable the Candle Builders integration. 

Alternatively, search for Candle Builders from the available integration search.

Enter your Customer ID to connect to Candle Builders. You should have received this after completing the New Customer Form. If you have not, please reach out to help@candlebuilders.com.

Please note that Order Desk isn’t able to help find or reset your credentials, only Candle Builders can provide that.

4.2: Integration Settings - Folders

Once connected, you will have a few settings where you can set your preferences for this integration. For the folder setting, after import please select PREPARED and after shipment select CLOSED. You can ignore the product code match settings, as they are not needed.

After import, move to prepared means that your candle order is in progress. Please note once we receive an order you/we CANNOT modify it.

After shipment, move to closed means that we will pass tracking information to your OD store, which will also pass to your ecommerce channels. Once shipment is confirmed, the order is moved to closed.

4.3: Integration Settings - Inventory

After your folders settings setup is complete, you need to set your inventory settings. Please navigate to store settings on the left hand sidebar under settings. Directly above the manage integration on the side bar.

Under the Inventory Settings section, Add Inventory Details to Order Items should be checked. See the image below.




4.4: Integration Settings - Channel Settings

Navigate to Manage Integrations, and under the shopping cart tab set up your channel, ie. shopping cart. See images below. Also following is an example of an Etsy set up.

5.0: Integration Settings - Etsy Example

Navigate to Manage Integrations - Select Etsy. See Image below. Under Settings Please set up the following:

    • ENABLE SYNC TRACKING NUMBERS
    • CHECK FOR NEW ORDERS - SET THAT TO YOUR DESIRE TIMEFRAME
    • INVENTORY LOCATION FILTER: SET TO CANDLEBUILDERS

 

  • After the above: Click on VIEW INVENTORY ITEMS under manually import inventory items (See second image and details below for next steps)


  •  

     

      • NAME: ENTER NAME OF YOUR PRODUCT 
      • CODE/SKU: YOUR STORE FRONT SKU and append the Candle Builders SKU. Reminder all of these can be found in the earlier parts of this document. EXAMPLE:YOUR SKU-PM-3-GD-K23 (This example would result in the following product: Your store SKU-Spiced Pumpkin-Amber vessel-GoldLid-Kraftpaper label
      • CURRENT STOCK: Please set to 9999
  • Price: Set your retail price
  • Weight: Set to .9


  • UNDER VARIATIONS:

    Add: Scent Variation  - Type out scent name. Although we know the scent via your sku, this helps us during the fulfillment process.

    Add Size Variation - set at 9 oz

    Add: Label - This is where your print URL will go. A printurl  is a link to your hosted label design. This is the art we will use to print and apply to the candle. Note: Many sellers use Dropbox to host their images.

    UNDER ITEM METADATA:

    Add: PRINT URL - This is where your print URL will go. A printurl  is a link to your hosted label design. This is the art we will use to print and apply to the candle. Note: Many sellers use Dropbox to host their images.

    YES: Please add the print URL to both Set Variation (labeled label) and under Metadata (labeled Print URL). If the PRINT URL is not labeled PRINT URL with the LINK to the art, we will not be able to print the art. The label will print blank.

    5.0: Sending Orders to Candle Builders

    You'll see a button for every print on demand integration you have under the item in your order. Click the appropriate button to submit your order to that printer. In this case, select Candle Builders. When clicking this button, it queues up the order for export to us.  It can take a couple seconds for the appointment to run, so give it a moment, then refresh the page to see if the order went through or not. The order will move to the prepared folder. This means we received it and it is in process. Once it is shipped, it will move to the closed folder and tracking information will post back to your storefronts. Of Course there are ways to automate the sending of order items to us, and more on splitting items and sending to multiple printers can be found at the Order desk help desk.

    5.1: Did the order send successfully?

    Scroll down to the Order History section near the bottom of the page. Order History shows all the events that happen to an order from the moment it is created. When you submit an order to Candle Builders, an event is added to the history to say that the order was scheduled to be sent to us. If the submission was successful, an event is added a moment later to say it was submitted: 

    If the submission was not successful, an event will be added to say it wasn't submitted with a message about why. In most print on demand orders, the error is that the print details are missing or wrong. If you get an error, double check that your variations are accurate, and contact Order Desk support if you still need help figuring out the error. 

    Other Important Information for Sellers:

    Candle Prices: 7.5 oz Candle prices range from $9.00 to $9.75 dependent on the candle variation. The 13.75 candle is $13.00. These are the prices we charge you. These prices are subject to change due to market conditions. We will always notify you first should prices increase.

    Shipping: We ship to US and Canada only.
    Shipping Prices: We charge a flat rate for shipping to the US and CA. The 7.5 oz candle is $7 for each candle unit. The 13.75 candle is $8 for each candle unit. These prices are subject to change given market conditions. We will always notify you first should prices increase.
    Shipping Set up and Rates: This is done in the Shopify settings admin. If your store is not new, then this is likely already set up. If your store is new, please review the Shopify Shipping help page. To Adjust settings navigate to shopify>settings>shipping and delivery. By default our candles arrive in your store with their weight, therefor using a weight based model works well. However, you can choose to set up your shipping method however you'd prefer, just keep in mind the flat rate we charge you.
    Shipping Carrier and Methods:
    We ship USPS first class and priority. We do not offer express shipping at this time.  Shipping times vary dependent on destinations, however USPS ships between 2-5 business days for domestic orders and 7-11 for Canadian.
    Fulfillment Processing Time: We process orders between 1-3 business days. The day we receive the order is considered day zero. During holiday rush, we process between 2-4 business days.
    Packaging: We ship a single 7.5 oz candles in a custom candle box. A single 13.75oz candle is packaged in a grey gift box and then in a 6x6x6 heavy corrugate box. All multiple candle orders are packaged in heavy corrugate boxes.
    Billing: We will invoice you by the 3rd business day of the month for the previous months orders received and fulfilled. You will be invoiced the cost of the candle along with the flat rate shipping. Please note, we are moving by the end of Q2 to a auto bill process. A CC or ACH will be filed for a monthly auto charge. Invoices will still be sent.
    Packing Slip: We do not offer custom packing slips at this time. There is no price or mention of Candle Builders on the packing slips.
    Returns, Refunds & Replacements:
    Sellers should have their own return, replacement policy. etc. We do ask you take into consideration our policies specifically for your candle products. We do not accept returns or offer refunds due to the custom nature of the candle products. We will 100% offer a replacement for lost in transit, defects, or for candles that have arrived broken. Our goal is to make sure that your customer is 100% satisfied and will do what it takes for you and them to make that happen. If your customer contacts you about a candle that never arrived or is broken/defects please contact help@candlebuilders.com with the Customer Name and Shipping address and the original order number as well as a picture of the candle if broken/defect and we will get our a replacement within 1-2 business days.
