This Privacy Policy explains how Candle Builders, LLC (“Candle Builders,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you (“you” or “Merchant”) use the Candle Builders App (“App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 We collect the following types of information when you use the App:
Store and Account Information: Business name, contact details, storefront platform identifiers (e.g., Shopify, Etsy).
Order Data: Customer names, shipping addresses, products ordered, and fulfillment data.
Uploaded Content: Custom label artwork, scent selections, branding details, and product-related uploads.
Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and interaction logs, collected via third-party tools for performance and security purposes.
Payment Data: If you choose to add a payment method, we use Stripe to process and store your payment information. Candle Builders does not directly store or access your full card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 We use your information to:
Operate, maintain, and improve the App.
Fulfill and ship orders submitted through your connected sales platforms.
Provide account-related communications and technical support.
Monitor and enforce our Terms of Service and prevent unauthorized use.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 We do not sell, rent, or lease your information to third parties.
3.2 We may share your information only with:
Our internal team and fulfillment staff, for the sole purpose of processing and shipping your orders.
Trusted third-party service providers (e.g., hosting, email, production, and shipping platforms) under strict confidentiality agreements.
Legal authorities, if required by applicable law, court order, or subpoena.
4. Data Retention
4.1 We retain account and usage data for 90 days following your last activity within the App.
4.2 Order history, product details, and merchant contact information may be retained longer within our production and shipping platforms to ensure service continuity, respond to customer inquiries, or comply with business obligations. Stored data does not include your end customer’s payment information.
5. Your Rights
5.1 You may request to access, correct, or delete your stored information by emailing help@candlebuilders.com.
5.2 Please note that certain information is necessary for App functionality. Deletion may require account termination and cessation of App access.
6. Data Storage and Security
6.1 We use Firebase, a backend platform provided by Google LLC, to power our application services. All user data—such as account information, usage data, and files—is stored securely on Google Cloud servers located in the us-central1 region (Iowa, USA).
Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, and Google maintains strict physical and digital access controls to protect this information.
By using our services, you consent to the processing and storage of your data in the United States under these security protocols. While our primary data region is Iowa, Google may temporarily move or replicate data to other secure servers within its infrastructure for maintenance, redundancy, disaster recovery, or performance optimization. These processes, or similar possiabilities, are controlled by Google and are subject to their global security and compliance standards.
6.2 Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider. We do not have access to your full card information.
6.3 We implement appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
7. Policy Changes
7.1 We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. If the changes are significant, we will notify you via email or through the App. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
8. International Users & Data Transfers
8.1 Candle Builders is based in the United States and operates its systems from within the U.S. If you are accessing or using the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate.
8.2 By using the App and providing us with your information, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to the United States or other jurisdictions as necessary to deliver the App and fulfill your orders. Review section 6.1 for additional information about our data storage and security.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
9.1 If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal data).
The right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to exceptions.

The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.
