Step 8 - Review Private Label Candle Products Listed On Your Stores

Learn which product settings to check, what attributes are locked, and what you can safely edit after publishing.

Reviewing Your Private Label Candles for Sale on Your Sales Channels

After adding a product to a sales channel from App 2.0, wait approximately 2 minutes before reviewing it in your sales channel. This allows time for the product data to fully sync between App 2.0 and the sales channel.

Please review your product setup on each sales channel carefully. If you need to make any changes to the product in your sales channels, you are strongly encouraged to review this entire support page.

Products May Be Sent to Your Sales Channel in Draft or Inactive Mode

If your product is ready to sell on your sales channel, be sure to activate it. It will not appear for sale until it is active and properly published to your sales channels.

On Shopify, confirm the product is:

  • Set to Active under Status
  • Available in the Online Store sales channel
  • Track Quantity is NOT selected on each scent option

Be sure to check out our Using App 2.0 with Shopify Guide for tips.

On Etsy, make sure the product status is set to Active.

Some Product Settings May Appear Editable, But They Must Remain Unchanged

  • Inventory tracking - App 2.0 disables inventory tracking by default. Do not turn it back on.
  • Fulfillment location - Do not change this; it must remain set to Candle Builders.
  • If available, enable "Continue selling when out of stock"

The Following Product Attributes Are Locked in App 2.0

Changing them on your sales channels will not change what your customer receives. Once a product is created in App 2.0, the following attributes are locked:

  • Jar color
  • Jar size
  • Lid color (if applicable)
  • Scent options

If you need to update any of these, you must create a new product in App 2.0.

Example: You create a candle in App 2.0 with a 9oz amber jar, black lid, sea breeze scent, and ocean-themed label artwork. Later, you decide you want to change the candle to a 9oz clear jar with a white lid. In your sales channel, you update the title, description, and change the product images to reflect the 9oz clear jar and white lid. When a customer places an order, App 2.0 will still treat it as a 9oz amber jar with a black lid. Therefore, your customer will not receive what they were expecting. The right way to do this is to create a new product in App 2.0 and publish it to your sales channel as a new product.

You May Safely Edit Certain Product Fields on Your Sales Channel

These do not affect production or fulfillment. Depending on the sales channel, you may edit the following on the product pages in your sales channel:

  • Product title
  • Product description
  • Product images
  • Product category
  • Product type
  • Product vendor
  • Product collections
  • Product tags
  • Product SEO title
  • Product SEO description
  • Variant names (e.g., scent names)
  • Barcodes
  • Metafields
  • Metadata
  • You may also remove variants (e.g., remove a scent you don't want to offer). You cannot add a scent, even if it previously existed.
